Saba Haider

Born and brought up in India, yoga has been a part of Saba’s life since childhood. She started practicing under the guidance of her mother since an early age. She moved to the United States in 2007 and started teaching Yoga and meditation here. She believes in always being a student of the practice and is deeply grateful for the loving wisdom her elders and teachers have shared with her.

She is Yoga Alliance certified E-RYT (Experienced- Registered Yoga Teacher) and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). She has taught yoga and meditation to corporate employees, college students, school children, non-profit organizations, yoga studios, etc.  She has led several yoga teacher trainings courses and has trained large number of yoga teachers. She has also led yoga retreats to various locations. She volunteers her time teaching and organizing various yoga, meditation and spiritual events, inviting teachers and leaders of the yoga world from all over the US. She is also the co-chair of the Annual International Yoga Day event of Chicago.

Her authentic, non-judgmental teaching style and compassion-centered philosophy has consistently received great feedback from her students and has allowed her to develop a deeper connection with them. In her classes, Saba combines creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, inspiration and tradition to help her students deepen their practice and connect with the roots of yoga. In her classes, she seeks to help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga, meditation, and mindful living

Saba is a master meditation teacher who creatively uses breathwork, visualization, chanting and energy-body work, etc., to create thought-provoking and deeply healing meditations in her classes. She extensively uses Yoga techniques to heal not just the body but also the mind, and find reconnection to the soul. She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Partner Yoga, and guided meditations. Also, she specializes in teaching workshops on Chakras- the energy centers of the subtle body, and Pranayama- breathing techniques for relieving stress, anxiety and day to day challenges of a busy lifestyle, all over the Chicagoland area.

She is the founder of a consciously sourced yoga clothing & accessories business. A significant portion of the revenue goes toward sending at-risk kids to colleges in India.

Saba has a Master’s Degree in Wildlife Sciences and has lived and worked at various national parks of India for conservation of endangered wild animals.  For her, yoga and environmental conservation share same ethical values of harmony, co-existence and sustainability. The knowledge of plants and herbs gained during her education helps her in incorporating medicinal plants, herbs and spices in her and her students’ day to day life to strengthen digestion, immune system and overall health.

Saba hopes to spread the messages of love, inclusivity, and dedicated practice for continual growth of the physical and spiritual self, through her teachings and community work, for the rest of her life.
